The Bamboo Groom Palm Brush with Boar Bristles is the more comfortable way to brush your dog and get rid of loose hair, dirt and debris from the top coat. Great for dried dirt, reduces shedding, easier on your hand too. Hand crafted from one of the worlds most sustainable materials, bamboo. Light weight and durable.
Why Boar Bristles? Popular with groomers and breeders, they turn a brush into to a coat conditioner. The unique structure of the boar bristle carries natural oils produced by the skin, from the skin surface through to the end of the hair shaft. By coating each hair strand with a very small amount of the natural oil, a boar bristle brush repairs dry hair, reduces tangling and adds noticable shine without products like conditioning sprays. This same property also helps reduce frizz and coat static.
Designed for all coat types: short, medium and long. Offers a natural petting sensation that even sensitive or anxious pets enjoy, while removing loose hair, dirt and debris from the top coat. Wide elastic band for a secure fit over the palm. 3.25” wide x 4” tall. Distribute natural coat oils from the skin to drier hair ends for a healthier, shinier coat. Great finishing brush after slicker or deshedding rakes, or use regularly to reduce shedding from loose topcoat hair.
PRO TIP: Boar bristle brushes give you the best results when you've detangled first. Use a tool like the Andis Deshedding Rake to remove loose hair from the undercoat, followed by a slicker or wide-tooth comb to get rid of any stubborn mats or tangles first.
Tips for anxious pets and first use:
Before you begin, make sure pets are calm and comfortable. Introduce any new grooming tool to a pet by letting them see and sniff it.
Use long, gentle strokes and follow the direction of the hair growth, avoiding harsh contact with your pets skin.
Use treats and soothing reassurance during the grooming process to maintain your pets positive attitude!
Regular grooming (once or twice a week) will assist in maintaining a detangled, clean and healthy coat and reduced shedding.
