AllGroom Shampoo Selector

We know there’s a huge range of shampoo, conditioner and coat treatments available these days so it can get confusing trying to pick just one! That’s why we created our Shampoo Selector.

This guide brings together expert advice from groomers, breeders and shampoo makers, all in one place to help you match the right product to your dog’s breed, coat type, condition and health concerns.

While we've highlighted some of our best match and top-selling products, it's important to note that our selection goes beyond these recommendations. Think of this guide as a starting point on your grooming journey. Keep in mind that some breeds and cross-breeds may fall into multiple coat categories, so flexibility is key.

How to choose the right Shampoo

Each shampoo is formulated with specific goals in mind, whether it's enhancing coat color, reducing shedding, soothing itchy skin, or simply leaving your pup smelling fresh. Consider what you hope to achieve with your shampoo and select accordingly. If your dog has any skin sensitivities, consider choosing a hypoallergenic or fragrance free formula for the lowest chance of irritation.

How to choose the right Conditioner

While many of our shampoos come with matching conditioners, you also have the option to mix and match to suit your dog's needs. Conditioner plays a crucial role in maintaining skin and coat health for all breeds. It seals the hair cuticles post-shampoo, while also replenishing oils to prevent dryness while natural oils regenerate. When selecting a conditioner, consider factors like application method (straight from the bottle or diluted), rinsing ease, and desired conditioning level.
